ENACTING DREAMS WORKSHOP PDF Print E-mail

Maggie is hosting a rare, powerful and fun workshop with Kira Lallas - "Enacting Dreams."  This approach to dream work comes from the work of Boston University's late professor Jon Lipsky, and his book "Dreaming Together".  This one-time, two-day workshop will take place on the last weekend in April, 2012.

Part of what makes this such powerful work is that the exercises, the support of playful group energy, and the deeply personal nature of one's own dreams are potent tools and allies in exploring and honing deep connection to personal and emotional truth and essence, as well as in expressing and communicating that truth to others.  As a result of the safety inherent in the work structure, the playful quality of the work, and the support generated by the group, participants often find it easier and more fun than they had expected to embody and vocalize dream images and dream environments.

If you are a dream enthusiast of any kind, you will love this workshop.  Elements of this work will be especially interesting to actors, therapists, writers and various kinds of performance creators.  I hope you can join us.

PLEASE NOTE: THE CURRENT COST OF THIS ENTIRE WORKSHOP WEEKEND IS $100.

This includes the book Dreaming Together, the talk on Friday, April 27th, and the Two Day Workshop itself.  We hope this helps some of you to join us for this introduction to this rich, fun, and rewarding work.

Workshop will be held at:

The Frenetic Theater -  5102 Navigation Blvd  -  832-426-4624

MORE ABOUT MAGGIE

Maggie Simpson is best known as a singer/songwriter, renowned for her powerful and dynamic performance style, her stunning voice, her guitar work, and her story telling.  Her music covers a broad range from ethereal, lyrical ballads to hard-edged, funk-inflected grooves. Her sophisticated writing reveals a complex rhythmic and harmonic sense which springs from a raw innocence, keeping it tuneful and accessible.

Maggie also has a background in acting and playwriting.  Working with her professor and mentor, Jon Lipsky, she helped develop two Dream Theater productions, Dreaming With an Aids Patient, and The Dream Cafe, as well as her own phenomenal play with music, called Queen of Wyoming, which showed most recently in New York and Scotland during the summer and fall of 2008. You can visit www.queenofwyoming.com for a look back on that fun event.

In addition to returning to her roots in Dream Enactment work, Simpson is also currently working to become a Facilitator for Houston's Dance Evolution. An ongoing, Sunday morning barefoot community dance experience.  "There's nothing like it.  It's pure spirit and joy in motion."
